My New Moo Luxe Business Cards

As you regular readers know, I’m such a big fan of Moo, the hip online printing company for business cards, postcards, labels and stickers, etc etc.  So when they launched their new “luxe” business cards, of course I had to order some.  They’re printed on the most gorgeous thick paper – we’re talking thicker than card stock.  And the printing and color and trimming are top-notch.  There’s really no way to get a fancier business card for such a good price (well, other than maybe using letterpress or a die-cut or a foil finish or spot UV, but those things can be mega expensive).

I designed the front and back of my “luxe” business cards myself, ’cause I know how do that. But you don’t have to. As always with Moo, they have some gorgeous designs and illustrations on their site that you can customize for yourself – no graphic design skills needed.

I love my kooky mini-cards, and will still continue to hand those out.  But when I really need to make a statement that reflects my business (and the premium I charge for my services), these “luxe” cards are perfect.  They make me look goooooooood.

Toms Makes Ballet Flats. Want.

If this yucky winter/spring weather ever changes, I can’t wait to put away my heavy boots and bust out my classic Toms (remember the ones I bought in Brooklyn in September?).  I was perusing the Toms website to pick out another pair (yep, I love them so much, I’ve decided I need more), and I noticed that Toms is now making ballet flats.  WANT.

I’d go for this pair in light pink linen.  They’d look so pretty with jeans.  And like all Toms shoes, when you purchase a pair, a pair is given to a child in need.

Poseidon Undersea Resort

Now here’s a holiday that you’d be talking about for a long time. The Poseidon Undersea Resort in Fiji features 24 rooms that are 40 feet under water (there are also island villas for those wishing to schnooze above ground).  For only $15,000 (!!!), you can spend a week at the resort, which includes 4 nights in an island villa, 2 nights in an underwater suite, gourmet meals and drinks, scuba diving and snorkeling, and rides in a luxury submarine.

It’s crazy expensive, but it would be the trip of a lifetime…

Classic Kids’ Books

We enjoy reading to Clara, and are always looking for new books.  I love this roundup of 20 Classic Books for Kids from Canadian Parents’ website.  There are a few from my own childhood that I completely forgot about (Blueberries for Sal, The Poky Little Puppy), and there are a few that I’ve never heard of (Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Story of Ferdinand).  I’m adding a bunch of these to my holds list at the library!

Family Vacation Idea: Farm Stay

Here’s a neat idea for a family vacation – go stay on a working farm.  Don’t worry – a farm vacation isn’t all manual labour and sleeping in the hay loft. Some farms offer full packages, including comfortable accommodations, hands-on activities, and amazing meals with the freshest ingredients possible.

I think this is a great idea, especially for urban families. You can read more about farm vacations in the States, and find a farm near you (or perhaps further away – a destination farm?) on the Farm Stay US website.  I would love to visit this one in Pennsylvania. It would make an easy road trip from Toronto, and they have a pool for post-farming lounging and swimming!
