A Great Mother’s Day Idea

I’m always jealous of the different “… of the month” clubs there are in the States.  You can get wine, beer, coffee, makeup, etc delivered to you each month.  There aren’t many clubs like those in Canada, but Toronto-based Steeped and Infused tea company is changing that!

Steeped and Infused has just launched a “Tea of the Month” club, with 3 different sizes (and price points).  Each month you’ll get two types of loose leaf teas mailed to you, in either a sample size (15 grams), an “enjoyment size” (25 grams) or the “indulgence size” (75 grams).  You can sign up for a 6-month of 12-month package. What a great gift idea for Mother’s Day (coming up Sunday May 12).

A Lovely Interview with Oliver Jeffers

There’s a great interview with illustrator/painter/author Oliver Jeffers, published today on The Great Discontent.  We started reading Oliver Jeffers books to Clara about a year ago, and I just love them (probably more than Clara does).  That’s one of the unexpected pleasures of parenting – discovering cool things through your children.  Read the interview here…

I was on the news last night! A colleague referred me for a guest spot – talking about tech trends on CTV News Channel’s evening news program, Direct. I went on around 6:50pm (right in-between coverage of Hugo Chavez’s death) and chatted with the host for about 4 minutes.  We discussed Google Glass and privacy issues, Code.org’s launch, and some rumours surrounding Apple’s new iWatch.

I was pretty nervous, but my pal Jenna (who has a lot of TV experience) came along with me to keep me calm.  She also gave me some great tips, like “don’t shift in your chair” and “don’t tilt your head too much”.  Sounds silly, but it totally helped!

You can watch the clip online here.

[photos of me outside CTV and waiting in the greenroom are by Jenna. That’s her, sampling the coffee machine and having a conversation with Michael Buble]

David Fung is a graphic designer living in New York City.  He has a very stylish wardrobe.  The proof?  He dresses his dog Bodhi in his clothes, and does fashion shoots with him.

Okay, I know that sounds totally weird.  But the pictures are funny and adorable, mostly because of the expressions on Bodhi the dog’s face.  See all the looks (and get info on the clothes) at MenswearDog.Tumblr.com.
