Funny People On Twitter

10 September 2012 | 0 Comments

Are you on Twitter?  If so, do you follow anybody because they’re funny?  You might like this: MyLifeScoop did a roundup of the 10 Most Amusing Fake Personas on Twitter.  I quite like the @SarcasticRover.  Missing from the list is one of my favourites – I love the tweets from the @HonestToddler account.  A lot of it is Mommy humour of course, but I really do find it entertaining!

In related news, I’m running a Twitter contest for Camp Tech.  You can win a ticket to one of our classes!  All the details are here.

Funny on Friday: Dizzy Toddler

24 August 2012 | 2 Comments

I filmed this little video at the cottage last week.  Clara was dancing (one of her favourite things to do), and discovered how to spin around in a circle.  I grabbed the iPhone to try and capture her first experience with being dizzy.  I think it’s hilarious, and pretty darn cute.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The Perfect Video for My Friday

It’s the Friday before a long weekend, and I’m totally bogged down with work.  I took a couple minutes out to watch this hilarious video though – definitely lightened my mood.  I hope you have a great weekend, and enjoy it as much as this guy is loving those trains!

Bohemian Rhapsody on the Way to School

7 May 2012 | 0 Comments

“It has become a morning habit to sing Bohemian Rhapsody on the way to school in the morning. Depending on traffic, we can usually start the song as we pull out of the driveway, and pull into the school just as the song ends.”

I love everything about this.

Dancing and Dishes

I think Clara is getting a tooth, so this has been a hard week at our house.  This video made me smile – a much-needed little pick-me-up.  That kid can move!

Asshole Baby: “An account of child rearing from a new dad who has no idea what he’s doing or what he has gotten himself into.”

Beyond hilarious.

Mommy Humour

Being a new parent is delightful and amazing, but also mega stressful.   One of my favourite ways to relieve stress is to laugh, so lately I’ve been indulging in some Mommy Humour.  I’ve been enjoying the TV show Up All Night, I just finished reading the hilarious book Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay, and I adore comedians Samantha Bee and Allana Harkins’ mommy blog, Eating Over The Sink.  Sometimes a good laugh is all you need to get through the tough times.

Okay, I know, she’s my kid, so of course I think this is hilarious.  Maybe you’ll think it’s funny too.  This is how Clara reacts when we introduce a new food.  She gets used to it after a while, but her initial reaction is visceral.

Enjoy!

Modern Family starts back tonight!

21 September 2011 | 0 Comments

Ian and I (and most of our friends) love Modern Family, the sitcom on ABC.  It just cleaned up at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night, and the Season 3 Premiere is on tonight at 9pm.  It’s a special 1-hour episode.

Also on tonight – Up All Night.  Did you watch the pilot last week?  What did you think?  What are some of your fave TV shows?

Go The F To Sleep

28 April 2011 | 0 Comments

Oh wow, this is hilarious.  I was reading one of my favourite baby websites, Babble, and saw this post about a new children’s book, Go The F To Sleep.  Don’t worry, the book comes with a disclaimer:

Go the F To Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing off to dreamland. Honest, profane, and affectionate, Adam Mansbach’s verses and Ricardo Cortés’ illustrations perfectly capture the familiar—and unspoken—tribulations of putting your little angel down for the night, and open up a conversation about parenting in the process. Beautiful, subversive, and pants-wettingly funny, Go the Fuck to Sleep is a perfect gift for parents new, old, or expectant.  You probably should not read it to actual children, and if you do, he cannot be held legally responsible.

Sounds like a delightful read to me!
