I want them all.

There’s a 25% off sale at Moo.com, on until Sunday. No promo code necessary – the sale is right on the site. I’m going to order more mini-cards for Camp Tech (pictured above).
Clara, who just turned 2, is obsessed with cats right now. This adorably sweet photo series of a little girl and her cat made me smile. And it also made me want to get a cat. Too bad Ian is really allergic.

Going back to work after a long weekend is always difficult. Take a few minutes and daydream about exotic luxury travel – it helps ease the pain for a moment or two.
Today I’m looking at the list of 12 Converted Castle Hotels on Tablet. I can’t get enough of the Scottish Highlands, so I’d go for this spot. Which one would you love to stay in?

The TTC is selling some of its vintage posters (a subway map circa 1958 and a promo poster circa 1966). They’re super cool and only $15 (!!!). I’m going to get one of each. Too bad you can’t order online though – you have to go to the TTC Customer Service Centre above Davisville Station, during business hours.
There’s a great interview with illustrator/painter/author Oliver Jeffers, published today on The Great Discontent. We started reading Oliver Jeffers books to Clara about a year ago, and I just love them (probably more than Clara does). That’s one of the unexpected pleasures of parenting – discovering cool things through your children. Read the interview here…
This video is hilarious. Watch what this kid does instead of napping.
[ps – do you have a video monitor for your little one? We have a webcam that we connected to our local WiFi network, so we can watch it on our iPads. It’s so funny to see what kids do when they’re alone!]
Those are my new headshots for professional stuff, thanks to the amazing Donna Santos Photography. Doesn’t she do amazing work?
[yes, that’s the same outfit I wore on TV. I need to get more fancy clothes.]
I know a few people who vacation every summer in Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick, and they swear the beaches are amazing. It’s not too hot, the water is shallow (perfect for small children) and the sand dunes are breathtaking. Sounds dreamy on this grey rainy/snowy day in Toronto.
Have you spent time on the East Coast? What’s your favourite beach? Here’s a fantastic roundup of Eastern Canada’s Best Beaches, from Where magazine. Have you been to any of these?

Yesterday I attended the “Hack for Her” event at Google Waterloo, co-presented by Girl Geeks Toronto, Girls in Tech Toronto, and Women && Tech. It was so much fun! You can read all about the event in this article.
The photos above are from the day, which included a mini hack-a-thon (the photo of me looking like a total bossypants while presenting my team’s pitch is by Dov Stern), followed by drinks, food, and total goofiness hanging out at Google Waterloo. It’s a super fun place, but I don’t know if I would want to work there every day. Feels a bit like hanging out in a University dorm.
PS – I really really wanted to go down the Google slide, but it was closed. Liability’s a bitch, huh? Instead I posed a photo looking like I went down the slide.
