BlogTO has updated their roundup of The Best Card, Paper, and Stationery Shops in Toronto. In general, I agree with their list, although I’m not really sure Magic Pony should be on there (don’t get me wrong, I love Magic Pony, I just don’t really consider it a card and paper shop). And one of my personal faves is missing – Laywine’s in Yorkville. It’s where I get my favourite pens. Otherwise, there are some great shops on there.
NY Times: 36 Hours in Brooklyn
As if I needed another reason to want to go hang out in Brooklyn, the NY Times just posted a new travel article about NY’s hippest borough in their popular “36 Hours” series.
Adore Magazine: The British Edition
Another online magazine for you to check out… Australia-based Adore Magazine. I read about their British Edition over at SFGirlByBay and it was love at first sight when I saw this:
I want it all. Seems my obsession with all-things British is still going strong. Sigh.

Marshalls Update
Remember last month when I wrote about the American Retail Invasion? I just read on Toronto Life’s blog that Marshalls will be opening 3 of their 4 GTA stores (Leaside, Scarborough and Woodbridge) on March 17. That’s only 4 weeks! The downtown Toronto location will be opening “later this year”.
Our New Poster
Ian really likes Bob Dylan. I really like the colours and simple style of this design. So we both agreed we had to have this Bob Dylan gig poster, designed by Valhalla Studios, available for purchase through Poster Cabaret.
Poster Cabaret is an awesome print and poster store in Austin, Texas. Reminds me a lot of our neighbourhood print and poster shop, Telegramme.
Poster Cabaret ships to Canada, so we ordered the print on the website, and it arrived yesterday. Now we have to decide where to hang our new print…

Placesetting Print
I’m not gonna name names, but certain people who live in my house sometimes have trouble remembering how to properly set a table. This cute illustration by Cake With Giants could be just the remedy – I think it would look great framed in the dining area. Good-looking and practical…

50 & 50 Project
50 States, 50 Designers – each one creates an illustration around their state’s motto. See the gallery here. More are posted every day.
My favourite is the one for Florida designed by Two Arms Inc, above. Sidenote – who knew that was Florida’s state motto? I guess they couldn’t find an original one, so they copied the motto for the entire country.

I’m Profiled in Uppercase
Hey – check me out. I was featured in the subscriber profile section of the latest issue of Uppercase Magazine (yep, the same one I wrote about earlier this week).
I love that Isabel’s picture was included – she’s so cute.
