Au Revoir

Au revoir, mes amis!  Ian and I are heading to Montreal today, along with pals Hilary and Tristan.  The boys are big Montreal Canadiens fans, so we’re going to a hockey game on Saturday night.  But that’s not what I’m looking forward to the most… that would be a tie between our Friday night dinner plans (at Martin Picard’s restaurant Au Pied de Cochon), and relaxing at our swank hotel (Place D’Armes).

It’s snowing a bit today, so I’m bringing my fancy camera to get some shots of Old Montreal in the snow.  Fingers crossed for a great weekend.

Our New Poster

Ian really likes Bob Dylan.  I really like the colours and simple style of this design.  So we both agreed we had to have this Bob Dylan gig poster, designed by Valhalla Studios, available for purchase through Poster Cabaret.

Poster Cabaret is an awesome print and poster store in Austin, Texas.  Reminds me a lot of our neighbourhood print and poster shop, Telegramme.

Poster Cabaret ships to Canada, so we ordered the print on the website, and it arrived yesterday.  Now we have to decide where to hang our new print…

Welcome Back!

Hey readers, welcome back after the holiday break.  I hope you devoured good food and wine, put your feet up, and relaxed a bit!

I had a lovely break, spending a few days with family, and then Ian and I went on a little adventure to Chicago for 4 nights.  We went a little nuts shopping – the deals were insane!  I’ve found it really difficult to get good-looking maternity clothes in Canada, so when I hit Gap Maternity, I took home half the store (or so it feels like).  Ian scored some great finds, including a gorgeous jacket at Banana Republic that makes him look like Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock, and an All-Clad frying pan at Marshall’s that was clearance priced (it was interesting trying to explain that one to the customs officer).

Now it’s 2011, and time to get back to work.  The Kitchen Reno Adventure starts today, so I’m staying in the suburbs with my parents for a few weeks while the worst of the renovation is completed.  I have an ultrasound tomorrow, and we’re super excited to see the kidlet again.  It’s hard to believe that the baby will be here in just a few months (due date is April 20). I better get some more work done…

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays everyone!  This is my last blog post of the year.  Ian and I are spending the weekend with my family and then jumping on a Porter flight on Monday.  We’re going to Chicago for 4 nights for a little getaway, just the two of us.  I can’t wait for some fun time off work.

I’ll be back at my desk on January 3, which is the same day the kitchen reno adventure begins.  Scary and exciting!

I hope all of you and your loved ones have a nice Holiday break – eat lots, sleep in, and relax!
