A Not-Super-Ugly Murphy Bed

7 February 2012 | 4 Comments

Last week, I was reading a roundup of “10 Practical Items from IDS 2012” over at Toronto Life.  (IDS = Interior Design Show)  I really like this walnut Murphy Bed from Space Solutions.  It’s not super ugly!

Right now we have our guest room set up in the basement, with a big bed taking up most of the space.  I have a feeling that as Clara gets older, we’re going to want to use the basement as more of a rec room, and that bed will have to go.  A Murphy Bed is a great solution for accomodating guests on a real mattress (I’m not a huge fan of blow-up beds), without taking up too much space.  I’m bookmarking this one for later…

You may also like Zoom-Room, the Murphy Bed that’s electronic, remote controlled, and snakes up into the cabinet making the bed undetectable, and allowing you to keep a flat screen TV in front. Check it out at http://www.Zoom-Room.com.
