I saw this post on kottke.org and was blown away. Dana Tanamachi is a Brooklyn-based graphic designer and “custom chalk letterer” (which might take the cake for coolest job title ever). Of course she works at Louise Fili Ltd, where all that talent is being put to good use (sidenote: Jessica Hische used to work at Louise Fili).
Check out Dana’s portfolio on her website.
I’d never heard of Louise Fili before. I just placed an order on Amazon for her books! I also picked up some laminated maps for the trip. Still not booked yet of course 🙂
Oh of course! I forgot about her Italian books. Mostly she’s known for her design work (which is just exquisite, huh?).
I buy travel books for trips I don’t have booked all the time. Some for trips I’ll probably never take. I just like to flip through them. =)
I really like the maps. I still pull out my NYC map and study it just for fun. I can’t wait to get my Rome and Venice map. I meant to get Florence too and forgot. I’ll let you know when the books come in if you want to see them.
Congrats on getting your name in lights in Uppercase mag!
